About Me

What are your credentials?
I have an AB Communication Arts degree in UST, and I’m wrapping up a certificate course in Visual Graphic Design at the First Academy of Computer Arts.

I also passed the Civil Service Licensure examinations last 2014, if that interests you any.

What are you doing right now?
I’m a Sales Executive, and I work for this company. The rest of the time is for writing, reading, drawing, doing church service, and/or running this blog.

Your surname is Chan. Are you Chinese?
Yes and no.

Do you have siblings?
Yes. I have an older brother and a younger sister, of which are both born six years apart from me.

About this Blog

How long has this been running?
Five and a half years, more or less.

Do you have a team behind all of this?
No. I’m pretty anal-retentive (feel free to laugh) when it comes to the blog, so everything you see here is just from me.

What do you use to take pictures?
I use a Canon SX700HS (yay, money challenge!).

I edit the pictures on Rookie and Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustraror CS3.

Why WordPress?
(Yes, I do get this question time and again.) I like WordPress because the entire platform is focused on writing. Others say it’s quite a handful, but once you get the hang of it, the entire interface is actually user-friendly. Best of all, you can change your design with mere clicks; coding is a secondary (and premium) option.

Last, I never find layouts in other platforms as simplistic as this. Have you ever noticed that I’ve been using the same layout for the last two years?

Where do you get your inspiration?
I get it from anywhere, basically. A blog post can sprout from a discussion with my parents, how I feel, from people I talk to, from places I’ve been to, or even just the coffee I had earlier.

What kind of blog is this I’m reading?
It’s a personal blog, I guess.

About Your Questions

Do you think I should start a blog?
Ikaw bahala.

Do you think I should buy a camera for my blog?
Yes. Even a standard point-and-shoot will do. It’s about how you take pictures, not what you take pictures with.

What’s your advice for aspiring bloggers?
You have to have a message, or else your drive will wane. And just keep on keeping on.

Don’t be pretentious, and don’t do it for the money or the free stuff. Readers will be able to see past that and will know what you’re really in for.

How can I get in touch with you?
Sure, you can e-mail me at 365inasnap@gmail.com and let me know what’s up.
