I do not know how it works for people my age, but somewhere in my head lies a personal blogging Code of Ethics that I try to check myself with from time to time when I post something online. I’m not going to say that I subscribe to it all the time, but given that the Internet is a difficult place to maneuver in, there ought to be something worth being guided by.
The following are the Code of Ethics for blogs, pages and others linked to this page:
365inasnap:
- The opinions stated in this blog are mine and mine alone. I do not represent anyone but myself, and I am (or I try not to be) not influenced by external forces such as parents and their affiliations, my workplace, organizations, communities or religion. Any offense made against any political or spiritual group is not intentional.
- A blog post will not be rained on by cursed words. There may be a drizzle of it, but never so much that a minor will be barred from reading it.
- Information about people around me are not (fully) disclosed. Hence there is a photo of my father and mother, but no identification of their office addresses. There is a photo of my sister, but no detail of what her real name is. I refuse to disclose much, and whatever you may find online about them may have been something they put up themselves.
- Media. The pictures in this blog are taken by me, unless stated otherwise. You are not allowed to use them for profit or commercial gain. In the event that you wish to use them in a forum or message board, a corresponding link to the blog post the picture was in is requested.
- Reproduction or quotation. Please inform me, in the event that you wish to quote a part of a blog post and use it for something of importance to you.
- Products. I do not endorse anything (save for heading to Divisoria to shop for clothes), hence I am not earning a commission, income or anything of that kind for saying brand and product names in this blog. In the event that I do, you’ll be the first to know.
- Posts linked to third parties. Some blog posts–most especially reviews–are linked to corresponding websites wherein you may have a better look into these restaurants/products. I am not responsible for any untoward incident you may encounter (i.e., viruses) from clicking these links, and neither am I paid for linking them to this page.
Notebook Collection:
- All notebooks in the notebook collection are either presents or purchases.
- Income. I am not paid in any way, shape or form, for putting up pictures of notebooks online. I may get your commitment to keep coming back to this blog, but that is all there is. There is no monetary incentive for talking about notebooks.
- And before anyone asks, none of the notebooks are for sale. While other collectors let other people buy bits and pieces of their acquisitions, I can’t do that myself. Other notebooks here have taken me weeks and months to find, and there is no tag price placed on effort.
Twitter:
- All blog posts in 365inasnap and AHTD are all linked to twitter. Find @chancelina on twitter if you want to read more random rambles or see some spectacular spontaneity every day.
- Any and all derogatory comments are answered smartass-ily, after which blocking of the user automatically follows.
Comments:
- All comments are read before they are approved. Oh if only y’all knew how much spam I get some days. Your comments are moderated, but regardless of whether they are positive or not, just as long as it is not spam or overly offensive or mean, it will be put up.
- Comments are all replied to. It’s a part of the ethic. Just as in letter writing, we reply when someone sends us something.
Across the Board (applicable to all):
- I will not apologize for having an opinion.
- I will stand by my beliefs, morals, philosophies, principles and norms.
- I will respond to any kind of complaint, just as long as it is relevant.
- I will be grateful for the decent-sized following I have received.
- I will not sit idly in my seat as someone sitting in front of their computer somewhere else tries to tarnish whatever reputation I have online. Anything injurious will have severe consequences. Don’t even try; our family has plenty of strings to pull when the most urgent need arises. Or, you can try, let’s see what happens. :)
