Notebook Collection: As of March 31, 2011

Disclaimer: This blog post is long, in terms of pictures. And it’s also about notebooks.
If you’re not interested in a lot of pictures or notebooks, then you don’t have business of being here. Unless you’re curious.

Anyway, I’ve been long-talking about this crazy notebook collection I’ve got, and it’s taken me this long to gather all of my notebooks in one room, and take a photo of them so that they’re all counted as part of the collection thing.

Y’all know I’m twenty, and I’ve been collecting for five years now. My latest count was it passed the 50-mark [51/52]. It’s an addiction; I know.
But… exactly how will 50-plus notebook look like?

Yup, that sinful.
The stack made it to as high as Nic’s hips.

As far as I am concerned, I try my hardest to spend as sensibly as possible when I buy notebooks.
I have three Moleskines so far, a set of cahiers [which Margo gave me during a Christmas party, the one in the photo is the last one left unused], a hardcover plain [which I bought for myself], and PacMan. He’s also plain.
PacMan was Alvin’s present last Christmas. And yes–he took the breath out of me when I saw that. Haha.

Three PageOnes: one small [the text on it was sensible and just plain adorable, I got it for my 19th birthday], and two ‘Free Your Mind’ ones. They’re all blank.
The one with the stickers houses doodles. The other one is left untouched [which is obvious, thanks to the plastic wrap].

…and this is my ‘Yeah!’ pile.
Paperline, a local brand [I think, someone correct me if I am wrong], sells this to National Bookstore and select SM Stationary sections in the Department Store.
All of them are lined, and save for the big one below, they are all unused.

Miquelrius pile.
I have a slight [fine, serious] tendency to be possessive of the notebooks above, which is designed by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada. And yes–they’re brightly amazing.
And I can’t seem to have enough of them. Gaaah.
They all have their own stories, some of which are: the notebook on the upper left hand corner, I bought on impulse because I haven’t seen that cover out yet. I don’t know if anyone else has that, and four of those are presents from people.
All spiral-bound, some lined, some graphed, and only four are used.

Jordi and Kukuxumu.
I’m not that big of a fan of either of these two, but sometimes they create humorous covers, and that gets me to buy them.
From top left: graphed, lined, lined.
And I regret not saving enough to buy Kukuxumu’s The Bullfather. F that.

This is also Miquelrius, period. This one doesn’t have a designer.
It’s A4-sized[?].

The most delicious notebooks to hit Manila: Ceva Designs.
They’re another local brand. If you want them to ship, you can try asking them here.
I got two from Alvin [I think he's bought me at least five notebooks in here, so far], and one [the oranges] I bought for myself–because I really, really had to. Damn it, I sound like a Shopaholic. XD

I also keep planners handy–and yes, I keep them, because I doodle on them, as well. I’ve started using planners when I entered college.
These are Stradmore, a local brand. They’re the lone brand who makes planners cool and cheap, all in the same package. Not all of us can afford Moleskine or TeNeues all the time, you know.
The one in the middle, and in the photo below, was something made by Stradmore for our college alone. [We're totally awesome; I know.] I just took out the coupons, and then kept it back in the plastic. Haha.

I don’t know what their brand names are, my fairy godmother bought them for me while she was working in the States.
And yes–the interior? Bananas.

From a brand called ‘u:create’ in collaboration with a designer.
Both lined, both spiral-bound, both with microperforation, and both used.

These are pretty much–other notebooks. They’re pretty much a mix of brands; I had an inkling that this post might get too long.
Clockwise: I don’t know what brand it is; I also don’t know what brand that is, but I use it as a time-capsule notebook for my future kids; a 2011 planner I got from Giordano; Rex Ray journal set; Paperblanks, and then Paul Frank.
Rex Ray, Paperblanks and Paul Frank, I got for a total bargain at Book Sale, which was insane.
Example: I got the Paperblanks for Php140, and in Fully Booked it sells for Php900, more than six times as much as I bought it. Score!

More notebooks, but these no longer have brand names.
The top row is lined, the lower, blank.
[And yes, Superman is Superman. I died when I saw this in Book Sale, too!]

The notebook on the lower right hand corner is the only one sans brand name.
It’s Mead, Belle de Jour, and Baked.
Belle de Jour and Baked are local brands, once more.

And to wrap it all up: I bought this one from a sale in FUNctional, and I got it for Php45, a little over a dollar.
The rainbow is just to die for. Yes, yes?

So… that’s it! My notebook collection. :)
Next time, I’ll update you when I find something new to add to it.

I love notebooks as well… I haven’t counted my collection since I moved but I know I have kept buying them since. Your stack is very IMPRESSIVE!

Your notebook collection is amazing! I love all the variety and colors. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on being the Notebookstories addict of the week. There are worse addictions out there, you know.:)

Thank you so much! And yes, I think that this is a little better compared next to other addictions out there, as well. :)

I noticed the black notebook with Free Your Mind on the cover.
I have 2 of them, and want to get more (or hoard, them, actually) but can’t seem to find them anymore. I got my first 2 at National Bookstore a couple of years back, and I haven’t seen them since. Would you happen to know where to get them?

The Green Apple moleskine-ish ones are a nice, affordable substitute, as well…But I think people hoard them, too.

Actually, it took me around the same time to find PageOne’s Free Your Mind. Two years. I saw them in National Bookstore, and managed to see them again last year. And, I did just the same: I bought the last two pieces I saw, right then and there. As of late, they are hard to find, since PageOne has come out with this new line of cloth-covered notebooks ['Better Make A Note']. You can buy those instead, they are of the same size, both lined and blank, and they’re priced at around Php200-300. They are priced a little cheaper at Fully Booked, and more expensive at Power Books [trust me, I'm insanely price-conscious like that].

Thank you for visiting this page! :)

Spit it and shake it out
